Distressed Jeans

Although this trend has been going for years, seems to me that torn jeans are becoming more and more popular with nearly every high street store selling one or more styles. From skinnies to boyfriend fit, denim shorts and skirts, we’re obsessed with the distressed denim effect.

I’ve had these pair of ripped jeans for over a year now and last year it reworked itself into the condition I wanted, it was ripped to perfection from wear and tear.

I personally like the loose fitted jeans, but a good pair of skinnies can look amazing too and when temperatures rise I’ll be definitely getting out my old vintage Levis shorts.

My new denim brand obsession RE/DONE is a brand of denim that I’ll want to invest in. The brand launched in LA and they source the 'best of highly coveted vintage Levis' jeans and hand work them into modern fits with every piece being unique and looking amazing! (Source and great introduction article here).

RE/DONE

There is something about distressed denim that exemplify relaxed, laid-back and the essence of casual. However, it can definitely be dressed up with heels for a more sophisticated style.

Wedding Guest Dresses

Wedding season is upon us and if you are having trouble finding an outfit like many of us do, have no fear, help is here!

If you hit the high street you'll notice floral prints are everywhere. If you like big bold flowers or subtle prints, either way there is a floral print out there for you.  As well as floral being a big trend this season, you'll see bright bold colours and lace details around the high street too.

Whether you are going to a church wedding, an evening reception or somewhere abroad, take your pick from a few of my favourites below.

I recently shopped for a client who needed two wedding guest outfits, one for an English country wedding and one for a beach wedding abroad.  She has kindly modelled her country wedding outfit here for me, unfortunately, the second outfit for the beach wedding didn't look quite right but this is what I picked out for her.

Outfit One: Wearing a Self Portrait Lace A Line Dress.
This beautiful dress has a semi-sheer floral embroidered fabric that doesn't need any need for accessorising other than adding a statement ring and pairing with nude or black coloured shoes (Can pair with these court shoes or strappy heels).

This gorgeous printed maxi can be worn with black gladiator sandals and simple jewellery.

Denim Shirt

I used to associate denim with western cowboy films, growing up I identified denim as more of a masculine clothing. Denim was something my mother preferred not to buy me, instead she would lean towards the pretty dresses and floral prints. However this changed in my teens and now I can't live without it, everyone wears it, including my mum now!

My second favourite denim clothing, jeans being number one, has to be the shirt. Over time, this has become a staple item in my wardrobe and often people struggle on how to wear a denim shirt. This shirt can be worn in so many ways, here are a few ways you can style yours.
