Holiday Wardrobe

Image is taken from Pinterest

If you're away during the summer holidays and need some last minute ideas on what to take, here are a few of the items I'll be taking with me. For me holiday styling needs to be simple, I don't want to pack too much and most of what I pack needs to be wearable both day and evening.

The denim shorts as we all know is an essential, I managed to find perfect Vintage Levis cut offs which I wear every summer. This for me can definitely come into the category of wearable day and night. One is from Urban Outfitters and the other two from a vintage kilo sale, which I would recommend as I've been twice now and found loads of lovely things. (Click here for a post I did on Vintage).

The other items are a few dresses. I bought the below Zara dress and love it, great for a cover up but also for an evening out with statement earrings. The white dress is arriving tomorrow so will see how it looks on and the polka dot dress I will want to wear in the evening.

L-R: Zara, Topshop, Lace and Beads

Tops are the best items to take if you just want to live in your shorts, they don't take much space and you can take a few to mix and match the same bottoms. I love the two t-shirts at the bottom, they will work well as an airport outfit and during the day when you're out and about. Cami tops work well day and evening.

Top L-R: H&M, Topshop, Warehouse
Bottom L-R: Zara, Warehouse, &Otherstories

With shoes, you don't want to pack too much. I usually wear my converses to the airport and pack sandals that will go with most things.

Flip Flops, Black sandals, Orange slides

With swimwear, I have an old black one piece swimsuit from Topshop (similar here), a white bikini which is old from H&M (similar here and here) and the below which I bought recently. It's reversible which is the ideal when you're packing light as it's two in one!

Topshop

Lastly, accessories, the best way at the moment to make your outfit stand out is statement earrings but I quite like the gold hoop earrings, it's simple and still makes a difference to an outfit.

Top L-R: ASOS, Zara, New Look
Bottom L-R: &otherstories, Zara, New Look

I almost forgot, don't forget to take a few loose shirts, I'm taking a white cotton shirt from H&M (similar here) and my Zara shirt. Shirts can be used as cover ups on the beach and daytime wear too. Try to buy loose cotton or linen shirts.

I hope you liked my holiday picks, check out also my post on holiday ready.

Polka Dots

Spots, dots, circles, what ever you want to call it, it's taken over this summer. However, polka dots have always been around, it's a classic and good to have in your wardrobe, I mean Mr Blobby has been rocking it for years!

If you're not big on prints, polka dots are a subtle way to wear prints. Below are a few images from Pinterest to show you ways you can wear the print.

How about dressing it head to toe? If you decide to wear it head to toe, break it down with plain shoes and simple accessories.

I love how the spots can add so much detail to an outfit, understated and timeless.

Minnie Mouse is the queen of polka dots, probably why for me it comes across as a very feminine print. Although I'm not really into girly things, I do love polka dots. The below red dresses are my favourite, red is becoming a popular colour lately and will definitely make a statement.

1. ASOS
2. ASOS
3.Topshop
4. Lace and Beads
5. H&M

I've actually bought the below Zara top and love it! Planning on wearing with denim shorts soon.

1. New Look
2. Zara
3. Topshop
4. Topshop
5. New Look
6. Topshop

Happy Shopping!

Red and White Stripes

Images from Pinterest

Red and white stripes seem to be everywhere in stores and on bloggers, so I decided to do a post on what is out there at the moment. I have a few pieces in my wardrobe, although they mainly consist of Breton t-shirts. After reading the-frugality blog and seeing the gorgeous Alex in a red and white stripe top, she mentions 'candy stripes' are in fact in. Head over to her blog to see the lovely top she's wearing from H&M.

So what's on the high street? I tried on the below long Zara dress but wasn't really for me, but if you want to know what it looks like on, the beautiful Frankie Bridge is wearing it here.

Wear striped tops with jeans for an everyday look. It will also work with a red skirt, click here to see the ever so stylish Lucy Williams wearing a similar shirt.

How will you be wearing your stripes or do you have too many stripes already in your wardrobe? Can you have too many?
