Summer Jacket

When it comes to the British weather, summer is always unpredictable, and because of this we all need a good summer jacket in our lives.

Having so many options around if you want a more versatile jacket go for a denim or a trench.  These jackets will be part of your capsule wardrobe, which are essential items of clothing that will not go out of fashion.

There's a variety of trench and duster coats on the high street at the moment. The trench is quite similar to a duster, but a duster is usually longer and light weight, with a looser fitting and not much detailing. A trench is more of a raincoat that is thicker in the material with a belt and button details. It's quite confusing on the high street because they're a few trench coats that feel more like a duster coat.

I recently purchased a trench from French Connection, although the description is a trench, the length, light material and loose fit feels more like a duster. Yes, very inspector gadget but lovely on.

Other options to consider for a summer jacket are the following: Military jacket, Patterned jacket, Kimono and don't forget a good Moto/biker jacket is great too for throwing over a summer dress. Here are a few of from the high street to select from.

Topshop Western Jacket
Mango leather biker jacket
Levi Jacket

Banana Republic Drapey trench
Mango Flowy Trench

Dungarees/Overalls

I must admit I wasn't a big fan of these at first, but it grew on me. The first time I tried one on was the beginning of last year, a light denim pair that reminded me of what Cressida Bona wore to Glastonbury back in 2013.  Not only was it on sale, my size was there too. However I didn't know what to think when I tried it on, not sure I was ready for it. Although I wanted it, it just wasn't going to work and needless to say, it was very difficult to put back.

A year later, not knowing I was still in search for the perfect pair, I came across a pair of black dungarees and I fell in love with it. Although not blue denim, nonetheless it is perfect for me. I’ve dressed it up and dressed it down on these photos.

There're so many choices on the high street this year, and it is definitely an easily wearable outfit for this spring. Here are a few of my favourite dungaree looks from Pinterest.

Grey and White T-Shirt

Can we have too many grey or white tee shirts?
When Mark Zuckerberg (CEO of Facebook) was asked why he wears the same grey t-shirt every day, he replied saying he actually owns multiple versions of the same t-shirt. Ok, so the reason for him owning so many was because he didn't want to spend too long making a “silly” decision on what to wear, but rather spend that energy towards his products and services (source). Hmmm, maybe we could get more things done if we spent less time on what to wear??

I know when I don't have to time to get ready, I usually throw on a grey or white t-shirt or even a grey jumper, you can't go wrong with that! But can us ladies have too many of the same item? I guess for me, and maybe for a few of you out there, you probably own a few styles of the same colour t-shirt. Whether it's a grey or white t-shirt, I think you can never have too many. Here are a few grey and white t-shirt looks from Pinterest.
