Gingham

Gingham has been around for years, my earliest memory of wearing gingham print was probably the blue and white summer dress uniform at primary school. It’s a very girly and innocent print mostly associated with Dorothy from the wizard of Oz.

This spring summer we saw many designers add a bit of gingham print to their ready to wear pieces on the catwalk, from the likes of Oscar de la Renta, Diane Von Furstenberg and Altuzarra to name a few.

I think the gingham print is a great print to keep in your wardrobe, you can mix and match and even carry it on to autumn winter depending on the style. If you're not big on the print maybe try having the print on accessories like shoes or bags.

The skirt below was an old H&M gingham dress of mine that I took to a tailor local to me and he completely transformed it into a skirt. I wanted to keep the original buttons all the way down and the pockets on the sides. Just added a tie waist for detailing which was originally around the neck of the dress.
